Belmont House
Contemporary, transitional floor plan meets a French country
influence in this elegant country home. The house proper purposely
addresses the main road while secondary wings angle back to
minimize scale and create a private embrace for the rear of
the yard. Subtle changes of scale and massing give the house
character and charm while careful use of stucco, red cedar
shingles and masonry maintained traditional pedigree. The
interior architecture uses a barrel vault, gentle curves and
substantial gateways to inform procession and sequence in
an intuitive and logical way. Trayed ceilings, layered mouldings
and dramatic spatial interaction make this house a vibrant
reflection of the thoughtful and intelligent process between
client, architect and builder.
