Metropolitan Club

MMA Inc. was retained in 2003 to design the Metropolitan Club & Bar in the location of the old “Figs” on Route 9 in Brookline. Our challenge was in creating a dynamic exterior that not only stood out, but also created a recognizable landmark on a busy divided highway. MMA’s Entry “cylinder” accomplishes this task, along with dramatic lighting, innovative signage and warm, eye-catching materials.

Inside, the deft use of copper, back-painted glass, natural wood and terrazzo creates a sophisticated atmosphere that The Boston Globe called “glamorous and self-assured”. Indirect lighting and comfortable, elegant seating generates an experience that Boston Magazine defines as “intimate, roomy and sexy”.
