Newton Renovation

MMA was commissioned to renovate an existing 1880 shingle-style home and detached barn into an integrated, 2005 home built for entertaining and elegant living. The house centers around an incredible gourmet kitchen (the client is a chef) and uses walnut, limestone, teak and handcrafted tile to generate a warm and sophisticated palette. Vaulted spaces were employed where possible to create dramatic contrast to the house's existing 8'-4" ceilings. A transitional floor plan encourages easy flow from space to space. Major spaces also are arranged to take advantage of the spectacular views to the adjacent pond and allow for seasonal interaction of the terraces and porches.
