Kittitian Waterside Villa

MMA, Inc. was selected to design this incredible waterside villa in the luxurious Christophe Harbour development on St. Kitts in the West Indies. The villa presents formally as you arrive, with a welcoming front porch of mahogany louvers and tapered columns, local Nevis stone and gas torches.

The house proper’s floor plan is an open two-story concept of Kitchen, Dining Room, Great room and Bar with large bi-fold mahogany doors leading to the exterior Living Room. This is gracious indoor-outdoor living at its best! Two roofed, open-air walkways lead to the flanking Master Bedroom suites that extend out over the water, one with direct access to the dock for boats and jet skis. Adjacent to one Master Bedroom is a “Woman Cave”, which functions as a music studio for the talented client. It is designed to emulate a rum barrel – a nod to the island’s rich history as a distillery, and is ideal for acoustics. The studio terminates with a Nevis stone gabled wall, suggesting an iconic vestige of St. Kitts’ architectural heritage. Two Guest Bedrooms occupy the second floor with generous roof decks looking out to the ocean and mountains beyond.

The indigineous materials used: mahogany, Nevis stone, coral stone, coral rendering, bamboo, copper, interior trellises and textured plaster reinforce a modern interpretation of an elegant Caribbean home. The gardens boast royal, coconut, foxtail and traveler’s palms, flowering ginger, hibiscus, mango and black bamboo. A zero-edge pool is center-stage in the manicured south garden, with easy access to the secluded beach just beyond.

A true piece of paradise!
